Travel medical insurance

In respect of travel insurance plans, international travelers should be aware that overseas often only available medical care in private medical centers and that this can be very expensive.
In places where good quality medical care is not accessible, travelers need to be repatriated in case of accident or illness. When a journey we must take into account:
1. Request information about possible reciprocal agreements on health care between the country of residence and country of destination
2. Revising the terms of insurance or contact the medical insurance company to know the coverage for travel assistance
3. Hiring a special travel health insurance for those destinations where health risks are important and the medical care is expensive or not easily attainable. The travel health insurance should include cover for itinerary changes, urgent repatriation for health reasons, hospitalization, medical assistance in case of illness or accident.
Usually travel agents or organizers report on medical insurance for travelers. It should be noted that currently some countries require proof that you have adequate health insurance as a condition of entry.
Travelers should know the procedures they must follow to obtain assistance and reimbursement. To be carried in hand luggage a copy of the certificate of insurance or travel insurance and contact details along with other travel documents.
